Good Morning, today is Thursday, March 9th and here are the stories that interest me.
Iceland is set to introduce a law requiring companies to prove gender equity in wages. The law, the first of its kind on a national scale, will require that Companies prove they are paying women the same amount as men. The Centre-Right Government supports the bill, as well as the opposition, so it is almost assured passage. The small Northern Atlantic Island hopes eradicate pay inequality by 2022.
Nestle, one of the world’s largest candy companies has made the announcement to cut 10% of sugar from all UK and Irish candies by 2020. It will affect some of the most well known candies in the region, including: Aero, Dairy Box, Drifter, KitKat, Lion, Milkybar, Munchies, Polo, Quality Street, Rolo, Smarties, Toffee Crisp, Walnut Whip and Yorkie. The move comes as people are being more worries about the quantities of sugar in sweets. Nestle has stated that the 10% reduction will not simply be replaces with sugar substitutes, but with other ingredients.
South Korea’s Constitutional Court has announced they will rule on President Park’s Impeachment on Friday. If the Impeachment is upheld, there will be a new Presidential election held within 60 days. The President has been maintaining her innocence of corruption throughout the trial. At least 6 of the 8 Judges must approve of the Impeachment for her removal.
