Welcome to my (new) corner of the world! I want to introduce myself and ,in a least awkward way as possible, explain what I am doing here and what I want to achieve.
In my 20’s (a long time ago), I was a copious blogger. I blogged about everything going on in my life. The highs, the lows, the big stuff, and in inconsequential. At 29, I generally walked away from it because I found that I had run out of things to say, or rather, had trouble finding purpose in writing.
For 7 years, I traveled, seen the world, got married, and decided to live outside of the United States permanently, and limited my ramblings to social media like Facebook and twitter. In the last couple of years, I have been straining against those outlets. I found myself hamstrung by the limited reach of the platforms, and I wanted to write longer, more thoughtful things on the world around me.
This has hit fever pitch with the events over the last few months, and my stifled feelings felt downright claustrophobic, so welcome to the Wandering ExPat. Here, I am going to write about things happening in the world, Politics, my view on them, and (in a way) treat this as my own sounding board. With so much happening, I want to be able to communicate my perspective on things, and I hope that in time, others will appreciate that perspective.
But that alone won’t be enough. As a social creature, I will veer into the pop culture, the fun, the funny, and also the personal. I feel that to get a good measure of a person, you have to see more than their politics, and I hope that this blog will be a way for me to share my world and my perspective with you.
So once again, welcome! I hope that you find this blog entertaining, informative, and (hopefully) not rage inducing.
